A Word About Professional, Charitable, Avocational,

A primary function of any organization is networking. Your members need to be
able to find their fellow members, and having an up-to-date membership directory

A Word About Alumni Directories
Carleton Graphics has produced alumni directories for major universities,
large and small colleges, and other learning institutions for more than 30 years.
We can do it for you in CD-ROM, and/or
online.
Our data purification procedures
will help to ensure that your directory is concise and accurate.
An alumni directory typically includes...
- Introductory Section -- Text and pictures that precede the alumni
listings. This typically will include a table of contents, a "How to Use" page,
possibly a message from the school president and/or alumni association president,
some photos, and other miscellaneous information.
- Alphabetical Listing -- Alumni listed by name (Last, First) with maiden
or name cross-reference. Includes address, phone, e-mail, class year, and major,
degree, Greek, and/or school/campus as well as business contact information.
- Class Year Listing -- Alumni listed by name within class year.
- Geographical Listing -- Alumni listed alphabetically within cities alphabetically
within state/province/country.
- Occupational/Career Listing -- Alumni listed alphabetically within
professional groups.

Data Purification
Carleton Graphics utilizes a substantial number of proprietary
computer techniques for data purification to create error free
directory listings. The following is a partial list of these
techniques:
- Missing Data Report - informs you of missing
information in files thought to be complete.
- Geographical Analysis - standardizes city spellings,
state abbreviations, and zip codes which insures consistency in
information presentation.
- Upper/Lower Case Conversion - If your files are stored
in ALL CAPS on your system, we can convert the data to mixed case
for enhanced legibility.
- Global Search and Replace - Once data
inconsistencies are identified, we can AUTOMATICALLY CORRECT them
programmatically at no extra cost.

Printed Membership Directory

Carleton Graphics has been printing high quality, affordable membership
directories since the early 1970s, offering organizations like yours a
broad range of formatting, paper, ink, and binding options. Do you need
section dividers or bleed thumb tabs? Do you need ad placements or a
special logo printed for some members? We can accommodate you.
Many organizations choose to offer directories in both hard bound
and soft bound editions. Many organizations choose to complement their
printed membership directories with CD-ROM
and/or online editions. Others opt for just an
electronic directory with no printed book. However you want to put
your members in touch with each other, Carleton Graphics has the
experience and expertise to meet your needs.

A typical Carleton Graphics membership directory in print will include
the following sections:
- Front Matter This can include any number of pages of text,
photographs, illustrations, etc. Many organizations include a letter from
their president, photos of their officers, etc.
- Advertising Ads may be placed within or after the front matter,
between sections, or between database pages.
- Database Sections
- Alphabetical (sorted by last name, first name)
- Geographical (sorted by country/state/province, city, last name, first name)

CD-ROM Membership Directory

Carleton Graphics can publish your membership directory on a
Windows or MacOS compatible multimedia CD-ROM. Your CD-ROM membership
directory will include powerful, easy-to-use query software for quickly
finding members. Additional data fields from your database that are not
practical for a printed directory may be included on the CD-ROM version.

A typical membership directory on CD-ROM will include the following queries:
- Quick Lookup (sorted by last name, first name)
- Alphabetical (sorted by last name, first name)
- Geographical (sorted by country/state/province, city, last name, first name)

Your online membership directory will include a page for each member to
update her/his record, subject to your revision and approval. Handy reports
generated from this processing can help you update your own membership data.
The look-and-feel of your online directory will be tailored to match your
organization's style. If you have an existing Web site, we will emulate your
Web site's style and provide links back to it.
Unlike printed directories that are typically produced annually or
biennially, an online directory can be updated at quarterly, monthly, or
even weekly intervals thus assuring that your online membership directory
is always up-to-date. Additional information can be included, e.g., member
portraits and other photos, company logos and descriptions, etc. that may
not always be practical for a printed directory due to the extra printing
and shipping costs.
